The Type L is a scientific research vessel devoted to gathering scientific data; it has the ability to process it im- mediately.

Available space for sensors, weapons, defenses, additional armor, vehicles, crew, cargo, controls, and other details is 212 tons.

The 40-ton Pinnace is docked to the central spoke.

The Ship is not equipped to land on a world surface.The ship has two identical Drive Compartments with the two Maneuver Drive-A connected by a Nexus to create Maneuver Drive-A2 (4 tons, MCr8, Potential-1 in this Hull). Similarly, Jump Drive B2 (30 tons, MCr30, Potential-2 in this Hull) and Power Plant-B2 (14 tons, MCr14, Potential-2). [The building Ship Yard acquired the drives as Naval surplus, and probably did not pass the savings on to the buyers].
